An Jin,Osawa Yuka Archives former chairman of Chinese automaker Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), has been put under review and investigation on suspicion of serious disciplinary violations. The provincial committee of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, China’s anti-graft watchdog, revealed the information on Tuesday, without sharing further details. An was also secretary of the party committee at the state-owned automaker for eight year before he retired in early 2021, during which JAC established a joint venture with Volkswagen and became a contract manufacturing partner to electric vehicle maker NIO. Both VW and NIO said the probe will have no impact on their collaborations with JAC or their operations. JAC is also partnering with Huawei with plans to roll out their first joint model, a luxury multi-purpose vehicle, later this year. A joint manufacturing facility is scheduled for completion in 2025 in China’s eastern Anhui province with an annual output goal of 35,000 units for the van, according to an environmental filing published on March 1.
